My groups (1) - Trials
I am always trying to start groups. I failed with many of them.
I will try here to remember the ones that failed.
I will try here to remember the ones that failed.
1. I already mentioned RCL (Responsibility, Co-operation, and Love) a pioneering order.
2. I also mentioned the groups of Hanoar Haoved veHalomed in the moshavim.
3. And I also mentioned that I tried to organize the graduates of that movement.
This new organization exists today.
This new organization exists today.
4. Before I participated in the Israeli Secular Humanist Society I advertised in a newspaper that I wanted to start a Humanist group. I got no responses. The Israeli Humanistic Judaism exists today.
5. Another person who received the American Secular Humanist monthly and I tried to start a group in Israel based on that monthly.
6. I suggested to the Union of kibbutz movements (There were 3 of them at that time.)' to connect with the communes of the world. They refused because they didn't want to start another international organization that would denounce Israel as being racist. Later on, a member of parliament did contact them and also had a conference in Israel.
7. I attended a course on the Magic Circle. I tried to organize a group like that in the kibbutz. There were about 4 meetings.
8. In my previous kibbutz I organized discussion groups on democracy and then problems of women on the kibbutz We succeeded in bringing suggestions to the general meeting that were accepted. There was no continuation.
9. There was a group in the kibbutz that discussed education once.
10. I succeeded in organizing a group in Kfar HaMaccabi to strengthen the bonds between us. They focused instead on replacing an official and that was it.
11. I have been asking the absorption committee of the kibbutz to organize meetings of 2 candidates, 2 new members, and 2 older members. I would teach them a game for getting to know each other deeply. I didn't get anywhere with that. (I'll explain the game in my chapter on the School of Love )
12. Within the School of Love I proposed to the members that I would help them to start any legal activity that they wanted. One person approached me and asked for my help in organizing a nudist group. He said that he advertised and 3 women and about 100 men responded. I told him that he had the start of a group. He should take the 3 women and 2 more men. There were a few meetings the first year and less the second year.
I don't remember If there were more trials like these. If I do remember I will mention them later on. I didn't mention in this list groups that did succeed to last at least for a few months and there were some of those as well.
